"Married At First Sight" fans were excited to find out that Shawniece Jackson and her husband of just a couple of months, Jephte Pierre, are pregnant. Although word leaked out already on Reddit, there was an official announcement tacked onto the end of the "Married At First Sight" Season 6 finale. So, is it a girl or a boy? Shawniece slipped and may have leaked on Twitter the gender of their baby.

Shawniece and Jephte's rough road

"Married At First Sight" viewers may be surprised that Shawniece and Jephte not only seemed destined to stick together but also are pregnant now given that Jephte kept rejecting intimacy.

Fans remember early in Season 6 that Jephte routinely referred to Shawniece as a "stranger" and upset her numerous times on their honeymoon by not kissing or touching her. They seemed ill-fated but then things turned.

Once the pair were back in Boston after their Jamaican honeymoon, they warmed up and it wasn't too long before Jephte finally consented to do the deed. Perhaps Jephte even made up for lost time given how quickly Shawniece got pregnant. An exclusive photo of the couple published on People magazine's website revealed that Shawniece is already showing! Given how far along she is, it's no surprise that they know the gender.

Boy or girl for the 'Married At First Sight' pair?

In a tweet posted on May 1, Shawniece seemed to reveal that she and Jephte are having a girl when she wrote that "Baby P" (as she called her unborn child) "will know all about her culture & history" -- with the feminine "her" used distinctly.

Shawniece also said that the baby's last name will be Pierre while hers will stay Jackson. Notice that Shawniece didn't say "it" or "him or her" but "her," so that seems to point to a baby girl on the way.

On the Season 6 finale of "Married At First Sight," Jephte seemed a little shell-shocked when Shawniece gifted him a tiny pair of sneakers and told him that they were expecting.

Jephte later said, though, that "a baby is always a blessing." Jephte said in the People interview that when his wife first told him the news, he thought, "Whoa, are we ready for this? Is our relationship at a point where we can handle being parents?"

Two out of three going strong

As of this writing, two of the three couples of Season 6's "Married At First Sight" are still hitched.

In addition to the seemingly solid union of Jephte Pierre and Shawniece Jackson, there is Ryan Buckley and Jaclyn Schwartzberg who were still happily hitched as of the finale of "MAFS."

Jaclyn and Ryan are still tweeting about being married, so they're sticking together (at least for now). Fans of "Married At First Sight" know that the odds are stacked against them. Jon Francetic is divorcing Molly Duff, whom fans seem to dislike intensely, but he shouldn't be lonely for too long given how many times Jephte has told women on Twitter to stop messaging him about Jon, and to just DM the guy directly!

Fans of "MAFS" won't have to wait too long for another round of strangers saying I do. "Married At First Sight" Season 7 airs this summer on Lifetime.
