Season 6 of "Married at First Sight" finale aired last week. Two of the couples chose to stay married while one couple decided to divorce. The "After the Decision" special aired on Tuesday, May 1, to bring the experts and the public up to date about what had happened since the finale. In previous seasons, some couples had changed their minds by the time the reunion show aired, but that was not the case in this season. All three couples stuck to their original decision.

The decisions

Molly Duff and Jonathan Francetic did not change their minds about divorcing.

They brought closure to their relationship after saying they were convinced that their marriage was not strong enough to survive. Jaclyn Schwartzberg and Ryan Buckley are adjusting to their marriage.

Shawniece Jackson and Jephte Pierre sealed their commitment to each other by getting matching tattoos. It is the number eight on their arms that indicates the month they got married. Shawniece pointed out that when it is turned sideways, it looks like the infinity symbol.

At the time of the taping, Shawniece did not know she was expecting. That's why it was not mentioned during the main part of the episode. It would have been nice to see the reactions of the other couples if that had been known and shared.

The experts found out some good news about Shawniece and Jephte after the reunion episode was taped. They made an official announcement after the special was over. They confirmed to the public what had already been shared on social media. Shawniece and Jephte are expecting a baby. This is the first time a pregnancy became part of the show in six seasons of "Married At First Sight."

During the clip that was shown, viewers saw Shawniece give her husband a present.

It was a white box tied with a ribbon. After Jephte opened it, he saw a pair of baby shoes. Shawniece said the shoes represented them taking baby steps together because they are having a baby. The 30-year-old cosmetologist said she is nervous and scared.

The 27-year-old newlywed was happy and assured his wife that they would be in it together.

The married couple of only two months had talked about have children during several episodes. Jephte said he has always wanted to be a parent, but he never imagined it to happen so soon. Jephte is used to being around kids. He is the oldest of 14 siblings. He took on the fatherly role while growing up. Besides, he is a second-grade teacher. Now, he is about to have his own child. Shawniece is the oldest of 10 siblings, and she loves being part of a big family.

Singles in Dallas, Texas are applying for Season 7 of "Married at First Sight" when it returns this summer. Thousands of singles will be interviewed and screened before six people are selected and paired with a partner to be part of the next season reality show on Lifetime.
