Underwood's new music video for 'Cry Pretty'

Carrie Underwood's [VIDEO] new music video for "Cry Pretty" displays her vulnerability and emotions. The music video jumps back and forth to various scenes of Underwood. The scenes show the contrast between the strong public appearance of the singer, and the behind the scenes vulnerability of Underwood. The music video begins with Underwood standing in a shower.

The scene is not provocative, but it is an intimate look into the singer's life. The video then jumps to Underwood walking out onto the stage in a powerful and controlled manner.

The music video also jumps around to scenes of Underwood getting ready in her bedroom. Again, the scenes are not provocative, but show another glimpse of the singer getting ready to perform on stage. These scenes show Underwood trying to get ready as she is either crying in bed, or in front of the mirror at her vanity. Underwood's message is emotional, as she tells the story of how someone may be emotional in the background, but must put on a strong face to be in the public eye. Musicians and Celebrities are human too, and struggle with emotions that they try to cover up.
