#Keith Urban might have walked away empty handed this year at the Academy of Country Music Awards as well as the Grammy Awards, but the country singer has hit back big by winning four awards at Wednesday night's #Cmt Music Awards 2017 in Nashville, Tennessee. His best win was undoubtedly for "Blue Ain't Your Color," for which he won the prestigious video of the year honor.

In addition, the "Somebody Like You" singer also won social superstar of the year, collaborative video and male video awards while his superstar wife, Nicole Kidman cheered him on from the audience.

Urban gave a heartfelt thank you to his wife in one of his acceptance speeches, saying it was because of her that "Blue Ain't Your Color" achieved such success. He said that Kidman had been part of the entire process of creating the song and especially the video.

Carrie Underwood Makes History

Keith Urban also gave a performance of his song "The Fighter," singing along with #Carrie Underwood, who outshone everyone at the awards by coming out as the most awarded artist in CMT Awards' history, with a whopping 17 honors.

Underwood bagged the collaborative video award for "The Fighter" as well as the female video of the year for "Church Bells." After the award ceremony, the country star tweeted a thank you to everyone who'd voted for her.

Other Highlights

Many artists gave collaborative performances throughout the show. Derek Trucks, Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley, Darius Rucker and Jason Aldean started the night with a brilliant tribute to Gregg Allman, the southern rock star who passed away in May this year.

Florida Georgia Line, who won the video of the year award, sang "Last Day Alive" along with The Chainsmokers, although the song was taped ahead of the show. CMT performance of the year winners, Jason Deulo and Luke Bryan sang "Want to Want Me" as well as "Strip It Down."

The CMT Awards were also graced with the presence of Hollywood celebrities such as Ashton Kutcher.

Miranda Lambert performed "Pink Sunglasses" while Katherine Heigl and Jada Pinkett wore pink sunglasses in the audience. Kelsea Ballerini, Thomas Rhett and Blake Shelton also gave performances at the awards.

Lady Antebellum paired up with Earth, Wind & Fire to end the night with a fiery performance. The CMT Music Awards 2017 edition were all about the strong connection between country music and other brands of pop music, with a string of striking collaborations.
