There's a rumor going around that erika girardi won't be coming back to "The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills" for season 9. The rumblings were picked up by Fansided, which reported that one of the show's most beloved characters is possibly quitting the show.

Erika allegedly quit

As the report notes, Girardi — who's also known by the stage name "Erika Jayne" — has allegedly had enough of "rhobh" and may nix the idea altogether of returning next season. It seems that the 46-year-old has decided to quit after having a "horrible season."

Erika Girardi is one of the more intriguing personalities on "RHOBH." She came on as Yolanda Hadid's friend several years ago and remained on the show after Yolanda left.

Fans were thrilled. For the most part, Erika has been authentic and a grounded person, but she's been on shaky ground with viewers after coming off overly defensive this season.

A conversation Erika had with Teddi Mellencamp didn't go over well at all. Erika was mad about the "pretend amnesia" comment she made. Her confrontation made Teddi cry, which upset fans.

Superfan tweets rumor

A "Real Housewives" superfan tweeted the rumor that Erika Girardi was leaving "RHOBH" on Saturday. It's unclear where the user heard about Erika quitting, but her tweet is getting some attention.

While some fans would like to see Erika quit, others hope the rumor isn't true.

Several said she's the main reason they tune into the show every week. A couple noted it makes sense why Erika has seemed so distant during the reunion. For instance, she wasn't open about discussing her book. Andy Cohen thought it was strange that no one in her family has read the book — including her husband. Erika acted confused at Andy's remark, implying that it was perfectly normal for those who supposedly love her to have zero interest in her memoir.

In part two of the "RHOBH" reunion, Erika is seen telling cast members off and spewing f-bombs. She definitely goes after Teddi in one clip, telling her to "get the f**k out." She basically comes off as though she has little tolerance for the entire spectacle and would rather be somewhere else.

A platform for promotion

The star's music career as Erika Jayne has increased dramatically since appearing on "RHOBH." She's seen with her entourage of stylists who travel with her everywhere. She recently shared that it costs $40,000 a month to maintain that kind of lifestyle.

If it's true Erika is leaving the show, it could be she feels that the show has gone as far as it can in the way of promoting her pop career. When she finished out her first season on the reality show, she was blown away by what it did for marketing Erika Jayne. Not only were her performances and videos featured throughout the seasons, but it landed her a brief role on "The Young and the Restless" with former cast member, Eileen Davidson.
