Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney shocked "Teen Mom OG" fans this week when a deleted scene revealed their desire to adopt. Now, we're learning more and more about Maci and Taylor's Plan to expand their family and can't wait to see what happens. Unfortunately, we might have to wait a good long while to meet the newest member of the McKinney family.

How it all went down

In the deleted "TMOG" clip, Maci Bookout can be seen chatting with her friend Keelie.

“Me and Taylor met with an adoption counselor,” Maci said “Taylor was bringing up wanting more, and I was like, ‘we can have more but I don’t want to be pregnant.'”

Keelie seemed truly surprised to hear about Maci Bookout's adoption plans.

Kind of the way "Teen Mom OG" fans were when she started talking about adding another child to the family. It turns out that Maci had another surprise for her friend. Not only were she and Taylor getting serious about adopting another child, but they also are talking about choosing an older child.

“If we are both okay with another child, we should go that route,” Maci explained. “We 100% don’t want a baby or toddler, we want 4 or 5 years old and up.”

There would be a huge change in the family dynamic if Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney were to adopt an older child. Depending on how long they wait and how old the adopted child is, it might even change the pecking order up a bit. They're already raising three kids.

Maci has a son Bentley who is 9 years old and fathered by Ryan Edwards. Maci and Taylor also have Jayde who will be 3 years old in May and Maverick who will be 2 years old in May.

While Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra famously gave their daughter Carly up for adoption on the show, none of the "Teen Mom" cast members have ever adopted a child.

This is all new territory if Maci and Taylor decide to adopt with cameras rolling.

Part of the longterm plan

The downside to all of this exciting news about the McKinneys is that the adoption won't be taking place any time soon. Even though Maci and Taylor are talking with an adoption counselor, they know this is a long process that will take years to go through.

“It’s definitely not something that will happening soon, like 3 to 5 years from now,” Maci told Keelie.

How exciting for Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney! Adopting an older child will be life changing all around. We also learned that Maci isn't trying to get pregnant again. Who can blame her after having Jayde and Maverick back to back? So when the "Teen Mom OG" pregnancy rumors start rolling, you can count Maci out.
