Maci Bookout isn't convinced that Ryan Edwards was sober in the months that followed his weeks-long rehab stint. During a sneak peek at next week's episode of "Teen Mom OG," which is believed to have been filmed several months ago, Bookout is seen chatting with her mother, Sharon Bookout, about Edwards' baby news and potential drug relapse.

“I thought [Ryan Edwards] wasn’t about that life right now,” Sharon tells Maci after she informs her that her ex-boyfriend is expecting his second child with wife Mackenzie Standifer. Ryan already shares a nine-year-old son, Bentley Edwards, with Maci, and Maci has two younger children with husband Taylor McKinney.

While Sharon said that a baby may help Ryan to stay on the straight and narrow path following months of drug struggles, Maci Bookout doesn't seem to have much hope for his future. “If this doesn’t do the trick then absolutely nothing will,” she said. "Babies and wives and baby mamas aren’t going to do it for him,” Sharon added.

Maci Bookout doesn't think Ryan Edwards can pass a drug test

When Maci's mom asked her if Ryan would be able to pass a drug test, Maci said, “No.” Sharon Bookout then noted that if he were clean he would be ready, willing, and able to take and pass a drug test. Although Ryan and his wife have acted as if Ryan can and will take a drug test to prove he is sober, Maci said that her people know "he’s not clean.”

At the end of last month, amid rumors of a potential drug relapse, Ryan Edwards was arrested in Tennessee for allegedly breaking the rules of his probation by getting caught with heroin in 2017.

Shortly after that arrest, Ryan entered into a treatment program, but not before being seen driving down the road nearly nodding out while allegedly abusing Xanax.

Maci Bookout wants protection from Ryan Edwards

Around the time of Edwards' arrest, both Maci and her husband, Taylor McKinney, filed for orders of protection against Ryan for themselves and their kids, including Maci's oldest son Bentley.

Upon the files, temporary orders were granted that require Ryan to stay away from Maci and her family and refrain from contacting the group. Maci and Taylor both appeared in court earlier this month but their cases were continued to until next month.
