It is a known fact that Toyotaro, the original drawer of “Dragon Ball Super” is a great fan of Akira Toriyama’s first mangas. Recently, he published some drawings of Uub along with King Chappa. For those of you who don’t remember, King Chappa was a fearsome warrior from the first sagas of “Dragon Ball.” He shares some physical similitudes with Nam, who was a humble warrior that entered the Martial Arts Tournament with the objective of gathering money to buy water for his village. As King Chappa did in his time, now Uub chooses to enter the Tournament where he will finally face Goku
It seems that Toyotaro has for some reason chosen to relate King Chappa with Uub, although the nature of this relationship is unknown.
As we all know, this Tournament in which Uub and Goku Will face each other has yet to happen in the “Dragon Ball Super” storyline. Yet Toyotaro seems to suggest that King Chappa was the one training Uub for ten years, until his participation in the Martial Arts Tournament. Let’s also remember that it was thanks to a wish from Goku that Majin Buu (Kid Buu) resurrected as a good person, introducing Uub, to the story. Let’s remember that Uub has the same power Kid Buu had, but he has yet to awaken it.
As far as we know, one of Uub’s skills is the ability to imitate his opponent’s attacks. This was highlighted by Vegeta in the last episode of “Dragon Ball Z”.
According to Toyotaro, King Chappa is from the same village as Uub, explaining why was he his mentor until the boy reached the age of 10.
Still, we believe that it was better suited that Nam was his trainer since his soul is much more alike to Uub’s. But as King Chappa is stronger than Nam, it is also possible that it was he who recruited the boy to train.
When are we going to see this happening in the manga?
We have no official data about this yet, but if Toyotaro has released some drawings of King Chappa and the reborn demon (now turned into a good soul), then it is possible that he may add this connection during “Dragon Ball Super.” Next, we share with you one of the drawings of King Chappa as Toyotaro imagines him.
