Finally Dragon Ball Super” has reached an impasse and there is no official date as far as when the series will be coming back. That said, the directors of Toei Animation have left some clues that lead us to believe that the series may come back in a few months.

The first of such clues is that Shueisha (the editors of the manga) has an exclusive department dedicated to the creation of material for the franchise. On the same subject, Toei Animation itself has 3 departments with the same objective. This sole reason leads us to believe that the anime will come back eventually.

All things considered, however, there is still no confirmed date for anything other than the upcoming movie. But in the meantime, "GeGeGe no Kitaro" (the anime that has returned with 50 episodes) has replaced “Dragon Ball Super.”

To all this News we can add that the crossover movie with Pretty Cure Superstars will be released in April 2019. This was somewhat expected since both animes are products of Toei Animation. What wasn’t yet confirmed is whether or not the movie will be released for the small screen or if we will be able to see it in cinemas.

It is also very interesting to note that we already have some news for mid-2019 -- when it is presumed that a new saga of “Dragon Ball Super” will be released.

It is exiting to think that we will be enjoying new adventures with Goku and his friends in a year and a half.

What is the future of the franchise?

The truth about this news is that with this new crossover movie and the one that will be released in December 2018, it is impossible to believe that “Dragon Ball Super” was not a success.

Quite the contrary, in fact, as it was one of the most watched animes in Japan since it was released, and up until the last episode a few days ago. In fact, it received high ratings, on par with franchises such as "One Piece" and "Pokemon."

The true reason behind this hiatus is that the manga needs more time to fully develop the Tournament of Power saga.

Let’s not forget that the paper edition of “Dragon Ball Super” was way behind the TV edition, and needed some time to catch up.

Additional information

In conclusion, fans are waiting for more details on the upcoming anime film that will serve as a continuation of the series. The movie is titled “Dragon Ball Super” and is expected to be released in various theaters in Japan on December 14, 2018.

Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available. Until next time!
