Dean Unglert and Lesley Murphy seemed like a great couple. They got together during "Bachelor: Winter Games" and even though Dean didn't offer up a proposal at the end, they stayed together if only for a short time.
Dean joined Bachelor Nation when he tried to win Rachel Lindsay's heart on the most recent season of "The Bachelorette." He gained even more notoriety when he tried to juggle two women on "Bachelor In Paradise" soon after.
Fans thought he may be settling down when Dean and Lesley hooked up. It turns out that isn't the case.
Dean explains
On Sunday, Dean Unglert posted a new photo on Instagram. In it, he's looking wistful. In the caption, Dean reveals that he and Lesley have broken up. Dean takes a moment to get philosophical, waxing poetic about how love is something that everyone deserves but not something that we're entitled to. He goes on to explain just how much work it can take in order to maintain a relationship. Then, as if he hasn't spent nearly the last year looking for love, Dean makes it clear that he just wasn't ready for a relationship with Lesley Murphy.
Dean never actually explains why he and Lesley decided to end their short romance aside from not being ready.
Obviously, they had chemistry. Sometimes that just isn't enough. So far there doesn't seem to be any bad blood between Dean and Lesley. If there was they probably wouldn't have posted what at least looks like coordinated break up posts.
Lesley takes a similar approach
The interesting thing about Dean Unglert's Instagram post is that Lesley Murphy posted one that was almost identical just one day later. Also turned to the side and looking away wistfully (in her case, looking out a window) Lesley also took the time out to explain their recent breakup.
So why did they really split?
Dean Unglert and Lesley Murphy really looked like the perfect match on social media. Dean loves to travel. So does Lesley.
They did a lot of traveling together and it looked like they were having a great time.
After the "Bachelor: Winter Games" finale aired on February 22nd, Dean and Lesley continued to be joined at the hip. They posted pictures of together through mid-March and then just stopped. Dean headed to India solo while Lesley spent time in Guatemala, Mexico, and Indonesia without her man.
It doesn't seem like Dean Unglert and Lesley Murphy had a dramatic split since their photos are still posted on social media. However, there is a little hint in Lesley's post that came one day after Dean's that may give us a hint as to why the popular Bachelor Nation couple split.
"Out with the old, in with the true," Lesley wrote after a multi-paragraph explanation. "It was a long winter, and I’m excited for a new season."
