The Duggar family is in the news yet again, and this time it involves Joseph Duggar and his wife, Kendra Duggar. Now, the reason that these two are in the news is because of the fact that fans have noticed that they were all over each other during their joint bachelor and bachelorette party. It is worth mentioning that some fans found this rather strange as this family is very strict when it comes to relationships.
For instance, this family doesn’t actually date, and instead, they follow the rather controversial practice of courting. Jim Bob (who is the father of this very religious family) describes courting as “dating with a purpose.” The reason why courtships are different is because of the fact that when you are courting someone, you must always be chaperoned, and there is very limited touching involved.
What was this PDA that Joseph and Kendra took part in?
What happened here was that at their joint bachelor and bachelorette party the couple was seen getting cozy together when they were tubing. Joseph explained that the other members of the Duggar family were not very happy with the two getting cozy on the tube, as he explained to the TLC cameras: “We were on John’s boat, and whenever we were back on the tube he was definitely working pretty hard to get us off the tube.”
Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth’s husband Austin Forsyth was even heard shouting “Where’s your chaperone?” at the couple when the two were again rather close together on the tube. As you can tell from reading all of this, the family does indeed follow their strict courting rules, which again includes very limited touching, as the couple isn’t even allowed to give full-frontal hugs when they are courting.
The reason why couples can’t give each other full-frontal hugs is because of the fact that the family don’t like the idea of a man's chest and a woman's chest touching if they aren’t married.
