Locklear's lawyer asks court to reschedule hearing
This is currently Heather Locklear's seventh attempt at rehab. No one is really surprised to hear that Heather has returned to rehab considering her long and troubled past with drugs, alcohol and the law.
So, hearing that Locklear has pulled the "rehab" card to avoid court today makes perfect sense. The "Rehab Card" is a common practice used by celebrities who have encountered legal problems and face potential jail time after an ugly substance abuse riddled encounter with the police.
Will Heather Locklear serve jail time?
It also tends to look pretty good to a judge that may feel the star is attempting to make amends and changer their life. However, in Heather Locklear's case, it could be a case of too little too late. According to documents obtained by the celebrity news site this time around for the actress, things are a lot more complicated than just a DUI, or domestic violence charge.
Heather, 56, has also added four misdemeanor counts of battery on a peace officer, and one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest as well as the original domestic violence assault charges.
If the court documents play out to the severest level Heather Locklear could be sentenced to up to five years(serving one) in jail and be banned from owning a gun for ten years.
Heather Locklear's most recent nightmare went down on February 25 after her brother arrived at her home to find Heather and boyfriend Chris Heisser engaged in a physical and violent altercation.
Sadly, this entire bad mom moment all went down in front of Locklear's daughter, Ava Sambora, 20, with former husband ex-Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora who was also trying to defuse the argument.
The former "Melrose Place" actress was not unrepresented in court, her attorney was present on her behalf and asked the court to reschedule the hearing.
It is not known at this time when actress will appear before the judge, and for now, she remains in rehab.
We wish Heather Locklear great success in treatment. Do you believe Heather will be sentenced to jail or will the judge show some mercy for the troubled star?
