Melissa Claire Egan's exit from "The Young and the Restless" has spoiler alerts suggesting that Justin Hartley may reprise his role as Adam Newman. Fans have been hoping the couple will reunite and that Nick finds out the little boy he is raising is not his son. Celeb Dirty Laundry, however, is now suggesting a shocking twist that nips Adam's return in the bud. They suggest the possibility that Christian could turn out to be Nick's child after all. This would set things in motion that could lead to Chelsea leaving behind her entire life in Genoa City, including her business, Nick, and also both of her children.
Adam Newman remains in the spotlight
Fans continue to believe that Adam will return to Genoa City, but if spoilers are correct there will be no need. Should Nick be revealed as Christian's biological father, after all, this will end all the drama, lies, and secrecy with Chelsea. Once all of her deceptions are revealed, Ms. Lawson would have nothing left, and Victor would see to it that her boys remain behind. Celeb Dirty Laundry offers this as a possible scenario, but it could very well turn out to be true.

The only reason Adam Newman would have to return from the dead is to take his wife and children away.
Considering how much he loved Genoa City, and sparring with his father, this would not make sense, especially as there would need to be a logical explanation for where he has been all this time and why. With Melissa Claire Egan's exit date looming, there does not seem to be a way to quickly wrap up all the issues with Adam and his loved ones.
And who is Christian's dad?

Chelsea's departure should wrap up all loose ends
Chelsea fans certainly don't want to see her leave Genoa City in disgrace, but it looks as though this is the direction in which the storyline is headed. It would be nice if the writers tied up all the loose ends that are connected to Ms.
Lawson, so they will not affect future episodes. Adam needs to show up, or it should be made clear that he is dead and gone. The situation with Kevin and Chloe needs complete closure as to whether she murdered Victor's namesake or not. Greg Rikaart is returning on February 20, so perhaps this may be possible.

The truth as to why Chelsea stole from her own company needs to be explained in detail, and of course, Christian's paternity must be settled once and for all. If spoilers are right, all of this will nip Adam's return in the bud, or maybe not. Keep on the lookout for additional spoilers and continue watching "The Young and the Restless" weekday afternoons on CBS at 12:30 PM ET.
