On New Year's Eve, Victor and Nikki Newman renewed their wedding vows in front of a small group of family and friends. Everyone commented that their love for each other seemed genuine and fans of "The Young and the Restless" were expecting the two would settle down with each other at least for a while. On Friday's episode (Feb. 2), viewers got to see what Mrs. Newman really has on her mind.

She dismissed Nick from a meeting with Arturo, who is helping remodel the apartment buildings, made a financial deal with the young man then took him upstairs in the athletic club as Phyllis watched. Spoiler alerts from Soaps She Knows indicate Mrs. Newman will be busted.

Nikki and Victor's strange marriage

At first, everyone believed the renewal of the wedding vows was a sham and that Victor had something on the woman he has now married five times. Initially, it was supposed to be a business agreement and the two have shown themselves to work together very well as a power couple. This past week, Nikki came on board with a plan that proved the success of their teamwork by convincing Ashley to come to work for Newman Enterprises.

Friday's episode, however, made it clear that Nikki is only in her marriage for the fringe benefits and to give the appearance that her family unit is intact. Picking up a stranger and taking him to bed indicates that Mrs. Newman has not shed certain elements of her past. It also shows that she has absolutely no regard for the vows she took or any concern of Victor finding out. Soaps She Knows indicates that Phyllis is going to confront her former mother-in-law and that Victor is going to give his cheating wife a shock.

Nikki's inner cougar may cause problems

Nikki deciding to allow her inner cougar to emerge will probably cause more problems than her fling is worth. She has no idea who this man is or what he is capable of.

He could possibly be an opportunist who may blackmail the wife of the wealthiest man in town. Once Phyllis confronts her about her tryst it's only a matter of time before Victor finds out. Phyllis may even tell him herself.

Spoiler alerts do not say what is going to happen, but only that Nikki will experience something shocking. It's possible that what Celeb Dirty Laundry is alluding to is that the Newman patriarch might show up in the middle of his wife's little affair. This would indeed be a shock and also put the fear of God in Arturo. Be sure to watch Monday's episode (Feb. 5) of "The Young and the Restless" to find out for certain. "Y&R" airs weekday afternoons at 12:30 PM on CBS.
