Peggy Sulahian and Lydia Mclaughlin both claimed to have quit "The Real Housewives of orange county" earlier this month in posts to their fans and followers online. However, did the two women really have a say in their recent exits from Bravo TV's popular reality show? According to a new report, neither Sulahian nor McLaughlin was asked to return to the show. So, when it came to their recent statements about quitting, they reportedly didn't have a choice.

“[Peggy Sulahian] found out by the network at the same time as her friends told her, which was unfortunate,” a source told Radar Online on February 13.

“[She and Lydia McLaguhlin] were both really bothered when they found out filming had started without them.” Sulahian and McLaughlin joined the cast of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" ahead of season 12, Sulahian as an all-new housewife and McLaughlin as a returning housewife. As fans will remember, McLaughlin was previously seen on the eighth season of the series.

Peggy and Lydia waited to announce their exits

“[Peggy Sulahian] did not want to say anything on her social media until she absolutely was certain that she was fired,” the insider continued. Sulahian released a statement about leaving Bravo on her Facebook page on February 13, claiming that leaving the hit series felt like the right thing to do.

As for McLaughlin, she told her audience online that she could only bear one season of the reality series at a time and said her family took a vote and decided she should walk away from her full-time role.

Both Sulahian and McLaughlin waited to announce the end of their roles on the show until around the time that production began on season 13.

As fans may have seen, Shannon Beador took to her Instagram page over the weekend and confirmed the start of filming. She also shared a photo of herself and another woman, which quickly led to rumors regarding Sulahian and McLaughlin's possible replacement.

Meghan King Edmonds quit 'RHOC' in January

Before her two co-stars, Peggy Sulahian and Lydia McLaughlin revealed they had called it quits with "The Real Housewives of Orange County," Edmonds shared a blog post confirming her own exit.

As the pregnant reality star explained, she and her husband Jim are moving to St. Louis to raise their family away from the cameras.

"The Real Housewives of Orange County" season 13 is currently in production but does not yet have a premiere date.
