HBO has been keeping things about Game of Thrones” season 8 under wraps. In fact, the network is taking great measures to avoid leaks and spoilers. As this will be the series’ final bow, fans are now more excited to see what will happen in the show’s swansong.

The network has officially announced that the television adaptation based on George R.R. Martin's “A Song of Ice and Fire” final bow will be revealed in 2019. With almost two years of waiting, fan-made theories and assumptions are now swirling with what fans want to see in the final season.

Daenerys will die in the Great War

In “Game of Thrones” season 2, Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) had a vision of visiting the House of Undying. So, there is a fan-made theory saying that it was a prophecy that she had been destined to die from the very start.

She was seen walking through the ruined and freezing version of the throne in Kings Landing. The moment she was about to reach the iron throne, she walked through another door that led her to the Wall instead – where Drogo and her unborn baby were waiting. With that, this could be an early hint that she could die in the upcoming “Game of Thrones” season 8’s Great War.

Jon Snow to kill Daenerys

Another possible way that Daenerys will die is when Jon Snow (Kit Harington) betrays him.

There are theories claiming that Jon is the Prince Who Was Promised. And to fulfill his destiny, he has to kill his wife named Nissa Nissa to bring the White Walkers down eternally.

As it looks like that Dany and Jon are having a relationship, although they are relatively connected, she could be his romantic partner. To bring out the true power of the Lightbringer, he has to stub it straight to Dany's heart to defeat the Great Other and become Azor Ahai in “Game of Thrones” season 8.

Arya will die with Needle

In “A Song of Ice and Fire,” there was a scene where Jon Snow teased that Arya (Maisie Williams) would die with while holding a needle. “When the spring thaw comes, they will find your body with a needle still locked tight between your frozen fingers,” he said while she had sewing lessons.

And as Arya has a sword called Needle and the winter has come in Westeros, this could be a hint that another Stark sibling is about to say goodbye.

In fact, in an interview with Marie Claire, one of the episodes’ directors Alan Taylor revealed that one of the Stark sisters is going to die.

Ned Stark is still alive

Although this is quite impossible, the return of Ned (Sean Bean) in “Game of Thrones” season 8 will surely bring every fan off their seats. Varys (Conleth Hill) is believed to let Ned escape in the first season and the fans saw getting beheaded was a Faceless Man – who could be Jaqen H’ghar or Syrio Forel.

This theory got stronger when Sansa (Sophie Turner) noticed that the severed head Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) showed he didn’t seem like from her father. Also, Catelyn (Michelle Fairley) also perceived that the deceased body she saw was too small compared to her husband.

Now, it is up to the fans which from these theories to believe.
