However, there will also be some dark moments to see in Salem this holiday season.

According to the latest "Days of our Lives" spoilers and news, there will be a lot to watch this Christmas. Fans can expect to see a ton of couple's drama, a steamy hookup, character returns, some big romance, and maybe even a Christmas miracle.
Of course, "DOOL" viewers know that the NBC soap opera is built on its power couples, and John Black and Marlena Evans are one of the biggest that the show has ever seen. This holiday season, fans will see some major John and Marlena romance as Mr. Black decides to surprise "Doc" with a very special gift.
Romance and returns
John and Marlena have a lot to be thankful for this year. The pair are back together and happier than ever, and they recently got their grandson, Will Horton, back from the "dead." The pair will also get to celebrate the holidays with their family, including Paul, Brady, and Eric. In addition to the "Days Of Our Lives" romance, there will also be some big character returns in store for fans watching this Christmas.
Nicole Walker is set to make her big return to Salem with her daughter Holly. Nicole's homecoming will be short-lived, but likely have a big impact on a handful of characters. If Nicole comes face to face with Brady and/or Eric, perhaps she'll have some closure on her relationships with the men. Meanwhile, her return could also lead to the end of the Deimos Kiriakis murder storyline.
Jack is back
Meanwhile, "Days of our Lives" viewers will also see Jack Deveraux return to the soap. JJ is in the darkest place of his life right now, and he will believe that suicide is his only option. Although many people, including Abigail, Jennifer, Lani, Gabi, and Eric have tried to get through to him, he cannot shake the guilt he feels about shooting Theo Carver.
This Christmas, JJ will decide to end his life, but the spirit of his father will return to help guide him away from the darkness and back into the light.
A shocking hookup

Although Lani is still in love with JJ, and Eli is currently dating Gabi, the pair will end up in bed together, and the impact of their decision will prove to be a huge storyline down the road.
