Tyler Baltierra and Catelynn Lowell chose adoption for their oldest daughter, eight-year-old Carly, and in a sneak peek at the new season of "Teen Mom OG," Baltierra is seen venting about his strained relationship with Carly's adoptive parents, Brandon and Teresa. Following a tense season six of the MTV reality show, it looks like not a lot has changed between the couple and the reality star but fortunately for Baltierra, he hasn't let the drama between them get to him too much.

In the preview clip shared on Twitter, Tyler Baltierra was seen talking to one of his MTV producers and revealing that he simply doesn't need to have a relationship with Brandon and Teresa.

Although he did acknowledge that he needs to remain on good terms with them if he wants to continue on with his open adoption, he said their relationship isn't at the top of his priority list. Instead, his main concern is maintaining his relationship with Carly.

Although some fans of "Teen Mom OG" have felt that Tyler Baltierra's comments were somewhat abrasive, he released a statement to his fans and followers shortly after the sneak peek was shared and further explained his thoughts. "To be clear, I DO care about the relationship with Carly’s parents," he noted. However, continuing on, Baltierra confirmed that his relationship with Brandon and Teresa isn't at the top of his list.

Tyler Baltierra is thankful for his open adoption

While many birth parents are forced to say goodbye to their child at birth, Tyler Baltierra and Catelynn Lowell have an open adoption with Carly and receive regular updates about the child from her adoptive parents. They've also been known to see Carly from time to time. "I’m just thankful they let me be a part of her life in the end," Baltierra added.

Catelynn Lowell entered rehab at the end of last week

As Tyler Baltierra prepares for the upcoming premiere of the seventh season of "Teen Mom OG," he's been forced to do so alone after his wife suddenly checked into rehab after admitting to suicidal thoughts in an emotional Twitter post on Friday evening. As fans may have seen, Catelynn Lowell took to Twitter at the end of last week and shockingly told her online audience that she had thought of every single way to kill herself. She then said that she would be heading to treatment to get help.

To see more of Tyler Baltierra and Catelynn Lowell, tune into "Teen Mom OG" season seven on Monday, November 27 at 9 PM on MTV.
