"Teen Mom OG" fans are in for a treat in the upcoming episode. Three of the cast members, Catelynn Lowell, Amber Portwood, and Maci Bookout are going on vacation together, and the MTV cameras are there to capture it all. While the fourth cast member, Farrah Abraham, was not invited due to her constant feuds with the rest of the cast, the other three took their significant others to Puerto Rico for a fun vacation without their kids, and while they seemingly had a blast, there were some tough moments to deal with as well.
Postpartum depression discussion gets very real
According to OK! Magazine, the gang gets really candid about postpartum depression. Maci reveals that she suffered with the disorder after giving birth to her second child, daughter Jayde, but got though it once she identified the problem and admitted that she needed some help. Maci revealed that she felt like she may not be able to love Jayde as much as she loved her oldest child, son Bentley, adding that the depression made her feel like a terrible person.
Of course, "Teen Mom OG" fans know that Catelynn Lowell has also struggled with the disorder, and it impacted her life greatly after giving birth to her second daughter, Nova. Catelynn and her husband Tyler have been very open about placing their first daughter, Carly, up for adoption when they were teenagers, but Catelynn still has a lot of guilt over her decision, even though she knows it was the right thing to do.
Lowell opens up about her life changing decision
Catelynn Lowell tells her "Teen Mom OG" co-stars that she could have been "super selfish" and brought Carly home without thinking about her future, before walking off on her own down the beach, obviously choked up. When Maci asked Tyler Baltierra if her friend was okay, he admitted that Lowell still struggles with her decision to place Carly for adoption.
“She gets bothered by Carly. She tries to be happy, but it bothers her bad. She has a lot of guilt," Baltierra said of his wife.
Sadly, this is not a new feeling for Catelynn and/or Tyler. The couple have been struggling with feelings of guilt about their adoption decision since making it. The pair, who both lived in unstable households at the time Carly was born, decided it would be better for their daughter if they chose stable, loving adoptive parents to raise the baby girl, and that's what they did.
The pair are in a unique situation
As "Teen Mom OG" fans know, Catelynn and Tyler chose Brandon and Theresa to be Carly's parents, and they haven't regretted the decision. The two have given Carly a great life. Catelynn and Tyler may not always see eye to eye with all the decisions that Brandon and Theresa make, but the two couples have a lot of love and respect for one another in their unique parenting situation.
