"Teen Mom" fans who were looking forward to watching a brand new version of the show set in New Jersey are disappointed this week. MTV has reportedly canceled spin-off show "Teen Mom New Jersey" before the show has even aired one episode. The show was set to follow the lives of a new group of young mothers who were struggling in life after becoming pregnant at a young age.

However, fans will sadly never get to see it.

The spin-off has been killed at MTV

According to new reports, "Teen Mom New Jersey" is officially dead. Sources told The Ashley that the network called the stars of the reality series and told them that the show wasn't going to air at all. The insider revealed that there was really no explanation given to the women, but had been told that this for the new series

A few months back, MTV posted a new promo for their fall lineup, which included new shows such as "90s House" and fan favorites like "The Challenge" and "Teen Wolf," "Wild and Out," "Are You The One." They also announced a "Catfish" spin-off along with "Teen Mom New Jersey." The stars of the NJ based spin-off reportedly included Kaycie Flores, Devin McFaull, Sunshine Jones, Kaitlyn Marcacci, and Angela Garcia.

Some fans believed that MTV was going to move the franchise into the direction of the "Real Housewives," putting a group of women together from similar situations and filming the result. However, that idea may have also been nixed altogether. In addition, the production company that films "Teen Mom OG" and "Teen Mom 2" were not involved in the New Jersey spin-off, which could be one of the reasons that the show has been canceled before it ever got the chance to air on the network.

The other girls will be back very soon

Meanwhile, fans will still have plenty of "Teen Mom" to watch in the future. The "OG" girls are set to return with all of their drama in late November. Maci Bookout, Amber Portwood, Catelynn Lowell, and Farrah Abraham always entertain fans while telling their stories, and the fan favorite "TM2" will also return for a new season in 2018.

Kailyn Lowry, Jenelle Evans, Chelsea Houska, Leah Messer, and Briana DeJesus will be back for more after the first of the year.

The network would be "moving in another direction." The girls were allegedly very upset by the cancellation news, because they had worked really hard on the project, and had been gearing up for its premiere, which was supposed to be sometime this fall. What are your thoughts on MTV canceling "Teen Mom New Jersey" before the show even aired one episode?
