"Shameless" star Ethan Cutkosky, 18, who is best known as Carl Gallagher on the Showtime hit comedy-drama series, was arrested for DUI on November 2nd in Los Angeles. Reports reveal that Ethan was spotted by L.A. police officials around 10:30 PM while driving his orange BMW. He was stopped immediately by officials, who quickly noticed the star driving erratically down the center of the road.

LAPD administered a field sobriety test, which did not go so well for Cutkosky, and he was carted off to a nearby jail.

At this time, Ethan's reps have yet to comment on the matter, and it is unclear if the DUI was alcohol or drug-related. The arrest took place just days before the highly anticipated Showtime Season 8 premiere of "Shameless," which aired on Sunday night.

For those of you unfamiliar with the series. "Shameless" follows the lives of the Gallagher family, an extremely dysfunctional Chicago family headed up by their alcoholic father Frank Gallagher, played by William H. Macy. Frank spends his days and nights drunk and high, leaving his six children to fend for themselves in often quite shocking and humorous ways.

Each of Frank Gallagher's kids has been adversely affected in one way or another by their dysfunctional family life that continues to add to the family's growing daily life issues.

Fiona, Franks eldest daughter (played by Emmy Rossum), has taken it upon herself to raise her five siblings Lip, Ian, Debbie, Carl, and Liam (Jeremy Allen White, Cameron Monaghan, Emma Kenney, Ethan Cutkosky, and Brennan Kane Johnson/ Blake Alexander Johnson, then later Brenden Sims and Brandon Sims as Liam.)

Fiona often calls on the aid of her closest friends and equally dysfunctional neighbors, Kevin Ball, and Veronica Fisher.

The roles are played by actors Steve Howey and Shanola Hampton. Kev and Vee's characters add even more intrigue, dysfunction, and comically entertaining storylines to the series.

There are numerous Facebook pages and groups dedicated to the series with fans revealing their dedication and addiction to the "Shameless" series and cast.

The Showtime comedy-drama is an adult-based series and first began airing on the cable network in 2011, becoming an instant hit with cable television fans. The series popularity has skyrocketed over the past seven seasons with the already large fanbase quickly increasing in numbers for with thousands of new non-Showtime and cable television subscribers after "Shameless" began streaming on the popular streaming network Netflix.

Once again a word of warning...this series is for adults and just when you think you have seen the most dysfunctional and shocking thing to ever hit cable television, think again, because this series, the writers, and cast continue to constantly outdo each and every episode.
