Jordin Sparks is married and expecting a baby. The 27-year-old "American Idol" winner secretly married her 25-year-old boyfriend Dana Isaiah back in July. The news has been quietly kept for four months. The newlyweds confirmed to PEOPLE that they are expecting their first child this spring, and they are really excited about their union and starting a family together.

The couple's journey

The singer and actress met her husband's family last February in Houston at a charity event. Jordin's mother and Isaiah's mother thought Jordin could help him in Los Angeles with his career.

So, the moms introduced their children through a group text chat.

Their mothers didn't put them together to date. However, after their mothers introduced them, they talked every day for a month before they met in person. When Dana flew to Los Angeles last April over the Easter weekend for a meeting in reference to his modeling career, he met Jordin for the very first time. After the young people got together, they bonded quickly and soon discovered there was a lot of chemistry between them.

Jordin knew immediately that Isaiah was going to be her husband.

She described that she felt comfortable, safe, and calm. Because of their Christian values, they decided not to move in together until they were married. They were secretly married three months after they first met. Jordin attributed the quick development of their relationship to their close-knit families.

The wedding

Jordin and Dana got married in Hawaii on July 16 after having only met a very short time before.

Only their families and a few close friends were there. They found out they were pregnant a month later. The couple plans to settle down and live in Los Angeles while raising their child there.

Jordin previously dated Jason Derulo for three years and ended their relationship in 2014. Before meeting Dana, she had made up her mind that she was going to remain single.

However, after meeting the aspiring model, she couldn't believe how quickly she began to feel. The singer concludes that she is the most content that she has ever been in her entire life. The "Right Here Right Now" singer is looking forward to the many joys of being a wife and mother.
