Before there was Melania Trump, Donald Trump was married Ivana Zelnickova as the two quickly became a popular and high-profiled couple. Fast forward to present day and the president's first wife doesn't believe he will be running for re-election and had a few words to say about the first lady.

Ivana on Donald Trump

Forty years ago Donald Trump married his first wife Ivana in the spring of 1977, as their marriage lasted until their divorce was officially finalized in 1992. For the rest of the decade, the former host of "The Apprentice" was married to Marla Maples, before getting a second divorce in 1999.

Fast forward to 2005 and Trump went on to marry his current wife Melania as the two hold the title of first couple. While Trump's ex-wives have remained mostly out of the spotlight, Ivana has opened up at times and expressed her views during the promotion of her recently released book. Last month, Ivana named herself the real "first lady," which was met with a quick rebuttal from Melania. While the drama between both sides appeared to die down, Ivana elaborated even further during the November 26 edition of "The Ray D'Arcy Show."

Joining host Ray D'Arcy on Sunday, Ivana Trump opened up about her recent conversations with Donald Trump and the doubts the president is apparently having about running for re-election in 2020.

"He’s missing a little bit of his old life," Ivana said, explaining that Trump had it easy before becoming president, noting that "he would go to Mar-a-Lago, he would go to play golf on Westchester, and things like that."

"I think he must be freaking exhausted," Ivana Trump went on to say.

The president's first ex-wife was then asked about her personal conversations with the commander in chief and whether or not he dreads being president and misses going back to way things were. In response, Ivana said, "I think so, yeah."

Ivana and Melania

Ray D'Arcy then pressed Ivana Trump on her previous comments about being the first lady, to which she made sure to clarify by causing another frenzy.

"I said I’m first Trump lady. And first lady went bananas over it," she said. "I have no idea how it sparkled. I have no idea why, but I am definitely first Trump lady," she added.

On whether or not Melania Trump is doing a good job in her role as first lady in the White House, Ivana appeared to throw some shade. "I think she's trying her best," she concluded to the oohs and ahhs of the audience. As of press time, neither the first lady nor her office have issued an offical response the the president's ex-wife.
