One of the biggest Korean pop acts these days is currently taking over the United States. BTS, who is also known as Bangtan Boys and Beyond The Scene, are in the country to prepare for their huge performance at the upcoming American Music Awards in Los Angeles. They flew to the United States days ahead the huge event to appear as guests on several radio and television talk shows.
The South Korean idol boy group gained international attention after nabbing the Top Social Artist Award at this year's Billboard Music Awards, breaking Justin Bieber's six-year winning streak.
Shortly after becoming the first ever K-Pop artist to be nominated for and to win at the Billboard Music Awards, they have been recognized by the global music scene, and a lot of international artists have given them love calls to release collaboration songs.
American TV appearances and radio guests
Aside from rehearsing for their historic performance at the upcoming AMAs, BTS has been swarmed with countless appearances on various shows. They’ve already appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and they’re set to appear as guests on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show.” However, the boys have grabbed more hearts, and have already appeared on several shows than expected.
They’ve sat down for exclusive interviews with ON with Mario Lopez, Jojo @ KIIS FM, Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight, and several more.
They recently appeared as guests on "On Air with Ryan Seacrest," which is a huge opportunity for them to get their South Korean songs to play on a popular international radio.
BTS prepares for AMAs, talks about U.S. experience
The boys have been bombarded with various questions, but most of them were about their experiences as a South Korean idol group, and how they’re coping with their short stay in the United States.
BTS, who have always pointed out that they owe their success to their fans, had nothing but great things to say about their immense worldwide fan base.
They haven’t confirmed an English album, but they promised that they’re working on new material to release next year. They’ve also revealed that they’re working hard on their upcoming performance at the AMAs that they’ve actually rehearsed at least four times for it.
In addition to the group’s milestone, they’re looking forward to seeing some of their favorite artists such as Usher, Chris Brown, Eminem, Selena Gomez, and ZEDD.
Teaser for new collaboration song featuring Steve Aoki unveiled
On November 16, the first official teaser for the highly awaited collaboration song with Steve Aoki was released. Their new song titled “MIC Drop” is set to release on November 24 in South Korea and the United States.
The teaser alone has already garnered almost 5 million views, which proves how much fans are looking forward to the song. Aoki has revealed his fondness for BTS in an earlier interview, stating that he found the boys really talented. Check out the teaser video for “MIC Drop” below.
