Over the past few weeks, over 40 women have come forward to accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment. The victims include big names such as Angelina Jolie and Gwenyth Paltrow who both claim they managed to avoid assault in the 90s. Others say they are not so fortunate. Six women have claimed they were assaulted by the now-disgraced Hollywood producer who admitted himself to therapy following his exposure.

While he shared a statement saying he wanted to "get better," reports showed that he wasn't putting in much effort at the facility.

Launched investigation

According to the LA Times, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has opened a civil rights investigation into the Weinstein Company as of Monday. A subpoena was issued as the attorney general is looking into any misconduct in the company following the dozens of sexual harassment claims Weinstein has faced.

"If sexual harassment or discrimination is pervasive at a company, we want to know," said the state official. He does not believe anyone should enter a workplace feeling fearful.

The attorney general is asking the Weinstein Company to release all documents associated with complains of sexual harassment as well as the settlements between Weinstein and his alleged accusers.

The subpoena is also asking the company to release documents detailing its casting process, as most stories that have come out about Weinstein have been related to gaining movie roles.

Weinstein is out of the picture

Harvey Weinstein was fired from the company he co-founded two weeks ago, but that didn't stop the attorney general from questioning the company. The producer has not released any public statements since he admitted himself to therapy recently.

Reports of the status of the Weinstein Company have been all over the place, as many believe its reputation is now soiled.

There has been much talk of it being sold to another company, but this investigation could change a lot.

LAPD has also opened an investigation, though it's focused on Harvey directly and not his company. The number of accusers as well the multiple investigations could lead to bad things for both Harvey and his old company.

Bob Weinstein claimed to have not known anything about his brother's behavior but Hollywood stars like Quentin Tarantino have admitted that everyone close to him knew. This could easily be one of the reasons the Weinstein Company is being investigated.
