The God Of Thunder needs all the help he can get when he battles the villain Hela in “Thor: Ragnarok.” While he gets the support from unlikely allies, there are also those close to him who should extend help. We are talking about the Warriors Three, specifically one of its great fighters, Lady Sif. She should be on Thor's side. Unfortunately, the warrior is not around when the great battle happens because of Loki.

Why Lady Sif is MIA

Lady Sif’s absence in “Thor: Ragnarok” can be chalked up to actress Jaimie Alexander (“Blindspot”) not being available to reprise the character.

However, story-wise, there is a reasonable explanation why she is not in the franchise. Fans may remember what happened to Asgard at the end of “Thor: The Dark World.” The God of Thunder abandoned his duty to be with Jane in the human world, believing that his father Odin has everything in their world under control. What he did not know was that Loki disguised himself as Odin and ruled Asgard in Thor’s absence.

Loki’s reign in Asgard

The general idea is that Loki made some changes during his reign in Asgard. He especially wanted to get rid of some people who opposed him, which would put Lady Sif on his list. She had always been on Thor’s side and frequently doubts Loki’s honesty. Loki would likely also banish some people who he thinks does not serve his purpose, including Heimdall since he can see everything.

According to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, Loki is to blame for Lady Sif’s absence in “Thor: Ragnarok.” He disbanded the Warrior Three and banished its members. “That was an idea – and probably the Warriors Three, to discount them… which is probably an answer to a question I’ve been asked a few times today: Sif was probably banished,” Feige told Cinema Blend.

The good news is Lady Sif is probably still alive. Feige added that she is “off somewhere.” Perhaps she is fighting in another universe.

Still, it would be fan-service if Lady Sif appears even as a cameo. Shippers had since preferred her to end up with Thor instead of Jane.

Heimdall returns in ‘Thor: Ragnarok’

Thor may not have Lady Sif on his side when he battles Hela (Cate Blanchett), but at least he has her brother Heimdall (Idris Elba).

The trailer shows the guardian’s return. The preview also somehow confirms Feige’s theory that Loki banished Heimdall along with her sister. The watchman now sports a long hair and appears rugged and unkempt. He has definitely seen better days.
