Things are definitely changing for Kylo Ren in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." After all, Supreme Leader Snoke declares that his training is almost complete when he killed Han Solo and faces Rey in "The Force Awakens." But is it possible that Snoke has grown weary of his young apprentice? There are speculations that Kylo might need to compete with Rey to remain the villain's sole pupil in "Star Wars 8."
Kylo Ren has been the hot new protege who was eager to follow Snoke's orders to be more like his grandfather Darth Vader. The Supreme Leader appears to believe in Kylo but also showed interest in Rey when it was revealed that the girl from Jakku is Force-sensitive.
Could Snoke decide to choose Rey over Kylo as his new apprentice in "The Last Jedi?"
Rey joins the Dark Side?
The trailer for "Star Wars 8" strongly suggests that Rey could potentially go dark. Luke Skywalker appears cautious of his new student. In addition to that, it looks like Snoke himself is addressing Rey and convincing her to join the Dark Side. Unfortunately, this could mean that Kylo Ren is now in trouble of losing a mentor in "Episode 8."
According to Movieweb, there are speculations that Rey will become frustrated with her Jedi training and will turn to the First Order leader for counsel. Given her talent for defeating Kylo Ren, Snoke might decide to make Rey an apprentice, one who can help him lay down his evil plans.
Although it is possible that the former Ben Solo will fight her for the right to remain Snoke's only prodigy, Rey could win once again and cause his banishment. But will it also lead Kylo to try and patch things up with his uncle?
Luke reunites with Kylo Ren
Fans have theorized that Kylo will face Luke Skywalker once again in "Star Wars 8." The two are expected to engage in an epic lightsaber duel that could lead to the loser's significant injury or possible death.
However, some believe that the reunion will actually be an amicable one where Kylo reconnects with his uncle and decides to abandon the First Order for good.
There have been theories pointing to the possibility that Kylo Ren will turn his back on Snoke while Rey might team up with Supreme Leader Snoke. Rey is possibly drawn to the Dark Side because of her somber heritage. Some believe she might be related to Emperor Palpatine, the Dark Lord who was Anakin Skywalker's mentor. The truth could be revealed when "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" hits theaters on December 15.
