scheana marie and her boyfriend of just under a year, actor Robert Parks-Valletta, have split. As the SUR Restaurant waitress nears the upcoming premiere date of her Bravo TV series, "Vanderpump Rules," new details are swirling with regards to the moments leading up to Parks-Valletta's Instagram confirmation of their breakup.

"We broke up, we are still amazing friends and we adore each other," Parks-Valletta said in a post to his fans and followers earlier this week. As fans of the actor may have noticed, he has been spending time in Italy with friends as his now-ex-girlfriend stayed in The States and spent time with her family, including sister Courtney.

Why did Scheana Marie and Robert Parks-Valletta break up?

Following Scheana Marie's split, a source spoke to E! News about the end of her months-long relationship, revealing that the reality star and actor called it quits on their romance due to work commitments that kept them apart. As the insider noted, the former couple felt it was best to hit pause on their relationship -- at least for the time being. That said, the source added that they remain in one another's lives and are "optimistic about their future."

According to a second insider, Parks-Valletta doesn't have time for a serious relationship at the moment but has nothing but good things to say about the "Vanderpump Rules" cast member, who filed for divorce from husband Mike Shay at the end of last year.

In fact, he's said to be completely open to the idea of possibly reconnecting with her at some point.

"They won't stop being friends but Rob considers himself pretty single right now," the insider said.

What has Robert Parks-Valletta been up to since his breakup?

After an extended vacation in Italy, Parks-Valletta traveled to San Francisco for work and will remain there for a few more days.

From there, the actor will be heading back to Los Angeles to see his family and get back to his work in the area.

Parks-Valletta was reportedly in Italy to relax by himself and to see the sights and sounds of the area, according to E! News.

To see more of Scheana Marie and her co-stars, including Jax Taylor, Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Tom Sandoval, Katie Maloney, Lala Kent, and Tom Schwartz, don't miss the upcoming premiere of "Vanderpump Rules" season six. The new installment is expected to air on Bravo TV later this year but an official premiere date has yet to be set.
