The second episode of "Riverdale" season 2 was all about tying loose ends, including the one involving Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) and his dad F.P Jones (Skeet Ulrich). With the latter still behind bars, a plea bargain which would see F.P. behind bars for 20 years was the best recourse.
Still convinced that there are other ways to go around it, Jughead was introduced to the Snake Charmer, someone who could possibly help in the case.
That person turned out to be Penny Peabody (Brit Morgan), a lawyer who is a full-blooded Serpent. However, it may have come at a heavy cost which Penny would cash in at some point moving forward.
Penny is bad news
The advice given by Penny was plain and simple – seek forgiveness from the Blossoms. Initially, Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) and her mother were unwilling to cooperate. That all changed when Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) made her move.
In what could very well be considered a mild glimpse of the celebrated Black Betty for season 2, Juggy’s girl blackmailed Cheryl with the video footage showing her dad, Clifford Blossom (Barclay Hope) had killed her brother Jason (Trevor Stines).
The latter eventually agreed though it remains unclear if this is the last fans have seen of the celebrated Jason Blossom murder.
It would be best to take note that with the development, the court has decided to look back at the events with the new testimony. F.P. is still technically not out of the clear, meaning anything can still crop up in the coming episodes.
"Angel of Death" still on the lose
Aside from the case involving Jughead and his dad, the so-called “Angel of Death” is still on the loose. After shooting Fred Andrews (Luke Perry) and then murdering Geraldine Grundy (Sarah Habel), the ending saw the assailant firing a shot at a car where Moose Mason (Cody Keasley) and Midge Klump (Emilija Baranac) were making out.
The immediate presumption is that both were likely killed although that remains to be seen. Recall that Fred Andrews was shot back in season 1 but survived so the same could hold for either Moose and/or Midge. Though both were not major characters, it remains to be seen if that was the last viewers have seen of the two.
Related to that, Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) is slowly showing why the second season of "Riverdale" will see a different kind of character. The shooting incident at Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe has rattled the red-headed teenager, and the spate of incidents is expected to make him even more paranoid. More answers and twists should pop up when “Riverdale” returns on Oct. 25 with its third episode titled "Chapter Sixteen: The Watcher in the Woods" on The CW.
