Lydia Mclaughlin decided to leave "The Real Housewives of Orange County" behind a few years ago so she could have another baby with her husband, Doug. She revealed that she would be willing to have another baby, as her husband really wanted a girl. When she returned to "The Real Housewives of Orange County" this year, she revealed that she had given birth to another boy and she had no desire for a fourth child.
According to a new report, Lydia McLaughlin is now revealing that she's thankful that her husband went through with the vasectomy so she doesn't have to worry about getting pregnant.
Lydia reveals that a fourth child would result in her giving up her career, as she simply wouldn't have time to give her career any attention. She doesn't want another baby, but Doug really wants a Baby Girl. Despite going through with the procedure, he revealed on the show that he could still have the baby girl if he can convince his wife to carry another baby.
Pushing for surgery
"Doug’s vasectomy was stressful in the moment but his recovery was relatively easy...at least for me. Haha. Of course while you are sitting in the waiting room, your mind is running wild, but it was simple and quick. He is a champ and I'm very grateful for him," Lydia McLaughlin explains in her Bravo blog about her husband's surgery.
It was clear that her husband was nervous about the surgery, as he was concerned about his sex drive. Perhaps he had read quite a bit about how men's libido goes down after having this surgery. But he realized that he would need to do something as Lydia didn't want any more children. As "The Real Housewives of Orange County," McLaughlin was criticized for being too aggressive with her husband.
She never offered to get her tubes tied. However, Doug may still get his baby girl.
Could still get a girl
On "The Real Housewives of Orange County," Doug revealed that he had frozen some of his sperm prior to the surgery. It's known that his sperm works just fine, as he has produced three sons with Lydia. When they tried for the third baby, McLaughlin had really hoped for a baby girl.
He really wants a daughter, but Lydia agreed to baby number three to see if they could do it. Perhaps he would be open to IVF so they can pick a girl. Lydia has revealed that they have money, so it could just be a time issue.
