Many will agree that actress Kate Winslet’s best work was reflected in the teary romantic, “Titanic” movie. Her chemistry with Leonardo DiCaprio was the main reason why her acting skills truly received wide acclaim. Most of that credit goes to the director, James Cameron, who is now working on getting the sequel to “Avatar” together. The two artists are coming together after over 20 years for Avatar 2.” According to a report by Den of Geek, Winslet has officially been confirmed as being involved in the making of “Avatar’s” future installments.

Cameron is going to be making “Avatar 2" and "Avatar 3” together. Success on those films could lead to the quick production of parts four and five.

Cast and crew members of the 'Avatar' series

Winslet is not the only addition that Cameron has made to his “Avatar” team. Seven other “young” artists have also been recruited to play different roles for the movie. “Avatar” was released back in 2009 and the science-fiction movie still remains the highest grossing film of all time. The cast and crew members of “Avatar 2” began shooting for the new film on September 25. If rumors turn out to be true, then the movie is set to debut on December 18, 2020. It will be followed up by “Avatar 3,” in 2021 and “Avatar 4,” in 2024.

The final installment of the movie series

The last and the final installment of the film franchise will be released in 2025. Cameron has big plans for the “Avatar” franchise. The known faces – Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana -- will return as protagonists in the next movie. Their romance will continue to flourish in the series in the form of Sully and Neytiri.

They will probably end up having two children by the time “Avatar” concludes. Another surprising returning character is the one played by Sigourney Weaver. Interestingly, her character was killed off in the first “Avatar” movie. In an interview with Screen Rant, the actress said that she will be playing a new character. At the same time, Cameron said he is planning on bringing Weaver’s original character back to the series.

He is still apparently working on how he will manage to do that.

Miles Quaritch, who played the main villain in the original “Avatar” movie, is also going to return. According to Cameron, he will continue to maintain his role of an antagonist all throughout the movie series. The actor is almost 65 years old, but Cameron seems intent on bringing him back to the “Avatar” series.
