Release date

"Avatar" is one of the most highly-anticipated movie sequels, and most of its viewers have responded well due to the film's themes, characters, and emotions. Jon Landau, the film producer, once shared with Entertainment Weekly that everyone was thrilled after learning that Cameron will be working closely with the movie's sequels.

It was also revealed that the first of the four installments will be released on December 18, 2020. The three other subsequent sequels are set to arrive on December 17, 2021, December 20, 2024, and December 19, 2025. Meanwhile, Winslet is one of the most-anticipated actresses who will play alongside Idris Elba.

Filming in the works

A report from Variety confirmed that Cameron has begun filming last week in California.

Cameron reportedly announced his upcoming movie project in four different pictures back in 2016. He already envisioned that the movie is set to have two new sequels. However, upon meeting with the screenwriters and staffs, he realized that they had to make four instead of two.

Cameron also joins Landau in producing the film through their Lightstorm Entertainment Company.

Apart from the returning stars, new additions of actors are set to join the movie, but with no specified roles yet. The movie script was written by Cameron, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Shane Salerno.

While the actress is set to work closely with her new movie, she is also set to star in the upcoming Fox show, "The Mountain Between Us," which is set to open on Friday.

She is also working on other shows like Woody Allen's "Wonder Wheel for Amazon," which is slated to open on December 1.

In the height of her career, Winslet has won several awards for films she worked on. Undoubtedly, her upcoming project with Cameron will be something worthwhile and exciting to watch.
