Kate Winslet and Leo Dicaprio's most remembered roles are probably the ones they played in "titanic" back in 1997. The British actress has brought Rose DeWitt Bukater to life, while "The Revenant" star played as Jack Dawson. While working for the classic and award-winning film, the two actors have developed a long-lasting friendship that has stood the test of time.

Jack-Rose reunion

Twenty years later, Kate and Leonardo still find a chance to communicate and update each other of how they are doing. In fact, the 41-year-old actress told E! News about the recent conversation she had with her longtime friend.

She opened up about asking the actor for some advice before she started her latest movie, entitled "The Mountain Between Us," where she had to endure the cold weather from filming on a snow-covered mountain.

The actress said Leonardo had warned her about shooting in cold weather and even asked her if she knows what she was sending herself up for. Aside from this, Kate regularly updates her friend with photos of herself on "The Mountain Between Us" set.

"I would send him little photos of me saying, "Thinking of you," as I am lying in the freezing snow-covered ice and he would just send back slightly worried emojis," the Brit actress told the news outlet.

When asked if she is willing to do another project with her "Titanic" co-star, Kate frankly said she would love to do it one day.

Although nothing has been planned for their potential reunion project, the actress is not ruling out the idea of getting one in the future.

On filming 'The Mountain Between Us' and 'Titanic'

The mother-of-three admitted that her latest project has stirred up nostalgic feelings given its similarities to her classic movie with Leonardo.

Kate, however, added that the filming for her upcoming disaster movie was more intense where they had to shoot at 10,000-foot high with temperature at -38 degree Celcius.

The three-time BAFTA Awards winner said working for "The Mountain Between Us" has reminded her of her scene in "Titanic" where her character and Jack had to survive the cold.

"It was definitely reminiscent of certain other rather challenging, strenuous experiences I had 20 years ago," Kate explained.

When asked if she can compare her acting in "The Mountain Between Us" to Leonardo's performance in "The Revenant," the actress frankly said her experience was nothing compared to her friend's scenes in the 2015 survival thriller.
