Kailyn Lowry is not attending the upcoming reunion special for "Teen Mom 2" season eight. According to a new report, the longtime reality star and mother of three is planning to stay home in Delaware with her two children, including seven-year-old Isaac, three-year-old Lincoln, and eight-week-old Lux, as their fathers, including Jo Rivera and Javi Marroquin, head to Los Angeles with their co-stars to address the happenings of the season.
On October 2nd, Lowry spoke to In Touch Weekly magazine about her decision to stay home during the "Teen Mom 2" reunion special, explaining that she needs to stay with her kids and make sure that they are getting to and from school on time.
"Plus, I have a newborn who doesn't need to be dragged to [Los Angeles] for a short weekend," she said.
Kailyn Lowry graduated in May 2017
After attending years of college at Delaware State University, Lowry graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications. However, before she graduated, she embarked on a fun project with a friend which may ultimately lead her to leave MTV. While In Touch Weekly revealed that nothing has been confirmed quite yet, the magazine noted that Lowry recently filmed a new show that is close to her heart.
According to the magazine's report, a professor of Lowry's asked her and her fellow classmates if they had any ideas for a television show that they could pitch to her and suggested they discuss their ideas after their cameras stopped rolling.
A short time later, after failing to reveal whether or not she took any of her fellow classmates' suggestions, Lowry confirmed that she was working on a new show.
Will Kailyn Lowry leave 'Teen Mom 2' and focus on her new show?
If she does, MTV won't have to worry about finding someone to replace her. After all, the network brought "16 & Pregnant" season two star Briana DeJesus to the show for season eight earlier this year and, at the time, fans wondered if the network did so because they knew someone would be leaving the show sometime soon.
During an interview with Radar Online days ago, Lowry didn't address whether or not she would be leaving "Teen Mom 2" in lieu of her own show, but she did say that she hopes her potential new series gets picked up.
To see more of Kailyn Lowry, Javi Marroquin, Jo Rivera, and their co-stars, including Briana DeJesus, Jenelle Evans, Leah Messer, and Chelsea Houska, tune into new episodes of "Teen Mom 2" on Monday nights at 9 PM on MTV.
