For several weeks, spoilers for "The Bold and the Beautiful" hinted at a forbidden storyline regarding Dollar Bill and his daughter-in-law. It was stated that Liam's father was going to get even with him by sleeping with his wife. It was even hinted at that Steffy would become pregnant and not know which Spencer man impregnated her. Friday's episode seemed to put all that to rest, as Justin witnessed his boss asking his son's forgiveness and the two men embraced one another. It's possible that B&B has flipped the script and ditched the inappropriate storyline.
Friday's episode also could be a dream sequence, or Bill setting his son up to retaliate at a later date.
Dollar Bill could have been shedding crocodile tears
Dollar Bill and Justin went to the Spencer Publications office and made Liam aware that they had erased all evidence indicating that Bill had ordered Spectra to be set on fire. Viewers probably thought this would be the moment that Liam's fate would be sealed, and his keys to the kingdom revoked. Bill, however, did not fire his son or issue any more threats. He apologized and reached out to embrace him. Bill shared how it was Steffy that taught him that family mattered the most, and told Liam that he loved him.
Liam told his father that he loved him too, and, as Justin and Steffy stood watching, tears began to flow down Dollar Bill's face.
The question is whether or not this was real or if the head of Spencer Publications was shedding crocodile tears. Not long ago a scene where Liam admitted in front of a crowd of people that his father torched Spectra turned out to be a dream sequence, so inquiring minds want to be sure that their eyes did not deceive them.
The future of Spencer Publications
Liam's blackmail cost Bill the love of his life, as Brooke walked out when her husband admitted causing the Spectra fire. Dollar Bill swore revenge and even had a vision where he was kissing his daughter-in-law. This scene gave the impression that the writers were going to allow Bill to seduce Steffy, which many viewers did not agree with.
Now, it appears that B&B is taking this storyline in a different direction.
Loyal fans who know how cruel Liam's dad can be will be watching for any sign of the old Dollar Bill. For now, it looks like all has been forgiven, but the head of Spencer Publications is not a warm and fuzzy kind of guy. Stay tuned weekday afternoons at 1:30 PM on CBS to find out what happens next on "The Bold and the Beautiful."
