After more than half a year of hiatus, Shonda Rhime’s crime-drama hit show "How to Get Away With Murder" is finally back onscreen for its fourth season — This Time with an unexpected, much lighter, and seemingly almost-relaxed tone.

Warning - spoilers ahead.

A noticeably lighter tone

Following three consecutive seasons of bloodshed, conspiracy, deceit, and pure hardcore drama, "How to Get Away With Murder" Season 4 has just premiered with a noticeably lighter aura. The show's creator, Peter Nowalk, recently explained why this is so, during an interview with Variety.

According to Nowalk, he had no intention of doing the same thing over and over again for every season of the show. This explains the somewhat lighter and less emotional feel of "HTGAWM" Season 4’s premiere. The show's slightly paler aura should not, however, be taken as an indication of an absence of bloodshed in the show — or even a lack thereof.

More blood

In another interview with E! News, Norwalk confirmed that blood will still be drawn in one of the forthcoming episodes of "How to Get Away With Murder" Season 4. Whether or not another one of the show's main characters is set to die during this season remains to be seen, however.

Like all of the show’s previous seasons, "How to Get Away With Murder" Season 4 revolves around a dramatic, potentially crime-filled incident.

The entire revelation of events leading to this incident is not expected until the show's season finale — a pattern which all of its past seasons have always adhered to.

Will Laurel lose her baby?

Flash-forward from the premiere episode of "How to Get Away With Murder" and it was revealed that Laurel may have been drugged, and may have lost her baby in the process.

While further details about this incident are yet to be revealed, it seems likely at this point that Laurel’s father may have had something to do with it. The events leading to the scene appear to coincide with Norwalk’s revelation in his Variety interview, where he hinted that the show’s storyline centers around a “where” question, rather than a “who,” which used to be the norm in the show's past seasons.

Where is Laurel's Baby?

Just as Nowalk predicted, the pressing question in the show's main event — which, so far, seems to be the moment Laurel wakes up confused in a hospital, with Frank trying to keep her calm — is this: Where is Laurel's baby and what happened to him? Events leading up to this confusing moment are expected to be revealed in the upcoming episodes of "HTGAWM" Season 4.
