Marvel's "Avengers: Infinity War" is less than a year away, and production is already busy filming the culmination of the last 10 or so years of the MCU. With it comes the storylines of each character appearing in the upcoming massive film by the Russo Brothers, which is set to premiere on May 4, 2018.

One of the storylines that are expected to be resolved is Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow's (Scarlett Johansson) relationship with Bruce Banner/The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), which was cut short when The Hulk suddenly disappeared after "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

The unlikely pair were seemingly headed for a romantic relationship during the 2015 film, with Ruffalo's Bruce reluctant because of his superpowers.

The film also saw the dynamic of the two, as Natasha seemed to be the only one who knew how to calm down the Hulk to make him turn back into Bruce Banner.

Future of Bruce Banner and Natasha Romanoff

When Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner and Scarlett Johansson's Natasha Romanoff meet again in "Avengers: Infinity War," there will be a lot of loose ends to tie up. The two will reunite under certain circumstances because as of the current timeline, the Hulk has spent some time away from Earth and is bromancing it out with Chris Hemsworth's Thor in the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok," due out this November.

As per Screenrant, Johansson recently spoke with Bravo on wrapping up filming her parts in "Infinity War" and hinting at the possible relationship status of Natasha and Bruce.

She said, "My character has this ongoing relationship with Mark Ruffalo’s character...I was so devastated. It was something about this character that Mark [Ruffalo] plays, and it reminded me of so much of the things going on in my own life at the time."

Scarlett Johansson hints at The Hulk's death or possible breakup

Scarlett Johansson was careful not to give away any spoilers about the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity War," which leaves fans with several theories on what she meant about her devastation on filming her scenes with Mark Ruffalo.

It may be one of two things: Either the Hulk dies (as several reports indicated that some Avengers may see their death in "Infinity War"), or the two don't get their romantic happy ending and instead "break up" even before they get together. Johansson's statements may also have been indicative of how the storyline reminded her of her personal life.

In 2016, the 32-year old actress separated from her husband, Romain Dauriac, with whom she has one daughter. She filed for divorce in March. Regardless, it seems that there will be a lot of interesting goings on between Bruce and Natasha in "Avengers: Infinity War," which premieres on May 4, 2018.
