Earlier this year, Chris Brown teased his fans with the idea of a 40-track double album. Not many artists nowadays release this much content at once, but the singer came through with even more than he promised. On Saturday, just a few weeks before the official release of "Heartbreak on a full moon," Brown released the full track list and the feedback has been positive.
Brown, 28, delivered on his promise for a double album, adding five more tracks than originally planned.
The singer was able to get features from some of the hottest names in hip-hop. Guests on Brown's LP include Jhené Aiko, Lil Yachty, Kodak Black, Gucci Mane, Young Thug, and Future.
Three tracks and video drop before album release date
Three tracks from the album have already been released, the latest being "High End" featuring Young Thug and Future. The video for the track was dropped on Thursday and, three days later, it has almost 4.3 million views on YouTube.
Reaction to the "High End" video has been positive. Almost 175,000 viewers have voiced their approval by giving the video a thumbs up, as opposed to the 5,000 viewers who gave it a thumbs down.
First album release since 2015
"Heartbreak On A Full Moon" is Chris Brown's first release since his 2015 album "Royalty" which was named after his daughter, Royalty Brown who turned three in May.
According to Billboard, Brown's "Royalty" album is his sixth album to hit the top five on the Billboard 200. However, the album failed to sell over 1 million copies and reach platinum status unlike many of his previous releases, including "X" in 2014.
Now, all eyes are on his upcoming, 40-track album, "Heartbreak on a Full Moon." Brown has been promoting the album since it was announced earlier this year.
Back in May, he shared a picture of the handwritten track list on his Instagram and Twitter accounts, giving fans a sneak-peek at the tracks on his forthcoming double album.
The singer, who has also appeared in several movies and TV shows, hopes to bring his name back into the spotlight with this album. The positive reaction to the track list Chris Brown posted on social media is a good indication that his upcoming will album will be a success.
Brown performed two tracks from the album that were previously released —"Privacy" and "Party" with Gucci Mane) at the 2017 BET Awards in June. He has also been promoting the album on social media, tweeting that the album is currently available for pre-order on Spotify.
"Heartbreak on a Full Moon" is set to be released on Halloween.
