Twentieth Century Fox announced earlier this week that they have ordered a “Bob’s Burgers” movie that's slated to hit theaters in 2020. The animated series just premiered its eighth season this week when the news about the movie first broke.
According to Rolling Stone, Twentieth Century Fox made the announcement regarding the “Bob’s Burgers” movies by saying that they will redouble their family and animation efforts in order to bring the flick to life by July 2020.
“Bob’s Burgers” creator releases statement
The creator of “Bob’s Burgers,” Loren Bouchard, said in a statement that they are thrilled that they were invited to bring the animated series to the Big Screen because they know that the movie will “scratch every itch the fans of the show ever had.” Bouchard noted, however, that the movie will not only be for fans but it will also cater to all the other people who have never seen the show.
Bouchard promised that they will “fill every inch” of the big screen with the colors and sounds and “ever-so-slightly greasy texture of the world of” Bob Belcher and his family. She also noted that they will bring the characters on an “epic adventure” and assured fans that they will make the best movie ever, Vice shared.
What is the plot of “Bob’s Burgers”
According to Deadline, “Bob’s Burgers” has been on the small screen since 2011 and it follows the lives of Bob Belcher, voiced by H. Jon Benjamin, his wife Linda, voiced by John Roberts, and their three kids namely Tina, Gene, and Louise. Tina is voiced by Dan Mintz while Gene is voiced by Eugene Mirman. Kristen Schaal brought Louise’s character to life.
Bob runs a restaurant and everyone tries to help but it does not always turn out great.
Some of the plots that revolve in the series include Bob and his insecurities since another restaurant is adjacent to his and is doing much better than his business. Tina is also a fan-favorite as she represents the teenagers who have fallen in love with the son of their father’s rival.
Louise, on the other hand, is a relatable character since she does not act like her age and has the tendency to control the people around her. Linda is a very positive character while Gene is like any other boy who wants to annoy everyone.
This has been a big year for “Bob’s Burgers” as they won their second Emmy for Outstanding Animated Series.
They took home the same award in 2014.
“Bob’s Burgers” is the first theatrically released film based on an animated series since 2007 when “The Simpsons Movie” and “Stewie Griffith: The Untold Story” came out.
