“Supergirl” will follow the footsteps of its fellow The CW series “Arrow,” as they feature a major flashback episode in season 3. Many of Kara Danvers' (Melissa Benoist) relationships have been featured in two seasons, whether it’s romantic, friendship, and family. Even enemies that turned as her friend applies.
One of the strongest bonds is the relationship with her sister, Alex Danvers, portrayed by Chyler Leigh. They have been through a lot as it was not easy to instantly accept the Kryptonian alien after being adopted by Alex’s family. According to Cinema Blend, “Supergirl” season 3, episode 6 entitled “Midvale” will pay tribute to the sisters.
Izabela Vidovic cast as young Kara
Entertainment Weekly first reported that Izabela Vidovic was cast to play the new young Kara Danvers. Malina Weissman originally portrayed the role. She now plays the lead character of Netflix's “A Series of Unfortunate Events.” Weissman would likely be busy for the said show as it was picked up for a second season.
Meanwhile, Vidovic is known for her previous roles as Taylor on “The Fosters,” and as Charlotte on “The 100.” At the moment, there are no confirmed details whether the 16-year-old actress will appear in just one episode. When asked about “Midvale,” Melissa Benoist said, “You will get to see, through the way they interact, how their relationship started when Kara first came to Earth.” The lead actress adds that the viewers will witness how the sisters’ relationship grew and became closer.
With this, it seems like Vidovic indeed has several things to show the viewers.
What is ‘Midvale’ all about?
“Supergirl” Season 3, episode 6 will pick up with Alex and Kara’s road trip on the way to their ancestral home. It is where they grew up and shared memories together. However, the duo reminisces a murder mystery during their high school days.
This experience reportedly got them closer, from being foster sisters to an established one, fighting crimes and saving people.
The younger version of the Danvers duo gives fans a chance to look deeper into their relationship. Moreover, it can be recalled that Kara’s first accomplishment as Supergirl was when she saved an airplane.
Her sister Alex was riding the said flight, and she can’t help but do something.
The Girl of Steel wholeheartedly accepted Alex as well after revealing her sexual preference. Obviously, they got closer these days. We’ll see how the Danvers sisters can get through the next chapter of “Supergirl” Season 3.
