"Pretty Little Liars" is getting a spinoff, "The Perfectionists." The series is set to star Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish. The Freeform network has picked up the pilot series, and it will be based on the young adult book by the famous author, Sara Shepard.

Reportedly Pieterse and Parrish are reprising their roles as Alison and Mona on the upcoming spinoff. According to Karey Burke, the Freeform Executive Vice-President, the network is very much committed to delivering good shows to its audience and "Pretty Little Liars" is one of the best shows that Freeform has offered their audience for quite a long time.

Collaboration with Shepard

In line with the spinoff announcement, Marlene King, the series showrunner, revealed that she is very excited about her upcoming collaboration to Shepard, the Freeform, and the Warner Horizon. According to Entertainment Tonight, King simply couldn't wait to introduce Pieterse and Parrish back to the audience.

While the season finale of "Pretty Little Liars" ended last June, King told the reporters that this upcoming spinoff could feel like a similar universe to the previous season. King added, "I would love to be honest about everything, but it's still a little too early."

Being part of the season

While Freeform officially announced the spinoff, Pieterse also talked about reprising her role in the show.

As of this time, the actress is reportedly competing for the mirrorball trophy on the 25th season of "Dancing with the Stars." Amidst her busy schedule, the actress revealed that she felt blessed to be part of the upcoming show.

Pieterse added that the network had repeatedly asked her some three to four years ago to reprise her role.

However, her working schedule didn't permit her to return to the series. Despite her hiatus, the actress is very happy as she'll finally reprise her role in the spinoff.

According to a report from E! News, "Pretty Little Liars" has been aired in Freeform for seven straight seasons. After signing off for the past three months, the show remained to be a significant hit which made it ranked as the no.

1 drama series among the viewers of 18-34 demographics during its season finale.

While these two actresses are set to reprise their roles, other personalities to join the main cast are Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson, Shay Mitchell, and Troian Bellisario. New updates of the upcoming spinoff series are to be revealed soon.
