Wedding bells are ringing for Kit Harington and Rose Leslie! Both The Sun and People Magazine were quick to report that the "Game of Thrones" couple have finally become engaged. They became an item five years ago. The English actor personally spilled the details about how their relationship started during the filming of the second season of the HBO series in Iceland.

Kit goes from reel to real with Rose

When speaking to Vogue Italia, he even recalled the beauty of Northern Lights and how it has affected his feelings of being in love at that moment.

The "Brimstone" star also admitted that it was easier to fall in love since the person he was attracted to was playing as his love interest on the show.

Similarly, Rose Leslie has nothing but praise for her on-screen and real-life partner whom she commended for being "a lovely and funny man." But despite their relationship, the Scottish actress still felt weird when she did her first sex scene for "Game of Thrones" with Kit Harington.

She, however, thought it was important for the audience to feel the connection between the characters of Jon Snow and Ygritte. "We got to see them in their own little world, with no outside interests or power plays or nasty surprises," she explained.

How romance started for Kit and Rose on 'Game of Thrones' set

In 2011 Kit Harington and Rose Leslie started working together for "Game of Thrones" season 2. The two were first mired in dating rumors after they were spotted on a dinner date in London a year later.

The "Pompeii" star, however, clarified that he was just friends with the actress.

Shortly after he denied dating reports, a source claimed that Kit Harington and Rose Leslie had called it quits. Kit, however, insisted that they were just close friends.

Jon Snow and Ygritte's on-screen romance ended when the HBO series killed Rose Leslie's character during the fourth season. Dating rumors, however, resurfaced when the two arrived together at the San Diego Comic-Con before an affiliate confirmed that the actors have rekindled their romance.

The "Game of Thrones" duo finally confirmed their relationship at the 2016 Olivier Awards where they made their red carpet debut as a couple. In June, Kit Harington revealed that he has moved in with his girlfriend in the wake of engagement rumors.

He even told Rose Leslie to feel at home and to redecorate the apartment whenever she felt like doing it. When asked about wedding plans, Kit Harington was initially taken aback before he explained that they were taking their relationship step by step.

According to the Business Insider, "On Wednesday, the couple confirmed the news with a traditional announcement in The Times newspaper."
