The much-ancticapted meeting between Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen finally took in place in "Game of Thrones" season 7 episode 3.

After he was declared the King in the North, Kit Harington's character personally traveled to Dragonstone where he came face to face with the Mother of Dragons to ask for her help in fighting the White Walkers. Emilia Clarke's Daenerys, on the other hand, ordered Jon Snow to kneel before her and pledge his loyalty, which he did not agree to.

Actors explain their first on-screen meeting

Harington admitted he kind of expected that his character and Daenerys will meet at some point.

He, however, did not see it coming this season. He added that King in the North was only aware that he was meeting a queen whom he will negotiate with.

The actor went on to reveal that his character was not expecting to meet a beautiful queen about his age. Unlike him, Emilia Clarke predicted that Daenerys and Jon Snow will have their first meeting in "Game of Thrones" season 7. She added that their meeting was fun to play, but hinted that the Mother of Dragons does not like and does not believe Jon Snow.

David Benioff also enjoyed Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington's on-screen meeting and thought that the two actors did a great job in their first shared scene. He, however, admitted that the characters did not have an instant chemistry considering that they each find the other annoying.

The "Game of Thrones" creator said both characters will have to find a common ground to make peace and help each other. It is worth noting that Daenerys has claimed that she is the last Targaryen, but she is not. Jon Snow's true identity was revealed in the previous season.

In the final moments of the sixth season, it was revealed that Jon Snow is not a bastard of Ned Stark, but rather Lyanna Stark's son with Rhaegar Targaryen.

This leads to two conclusions: First, Daenerys is not the last Targaryen; second, Jon Snow is her nephew. Hence, fans of the HBO series can expect more meetings between these two characters in the upcoming "Game of Thrones" episodes.

Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham) successfully played the mediator and arranged the meeting between the two.

He also eventually convinced Daenerys to help Jon Snow taking down the horde of undead. Fans of the HBO series shared their serious and funny reactions on the meeting between the two characters.
