“Pretty Little Liars” concluded in June, and now it is set to have a spinoff titled “The Perfectionists.” Freeform has picked up a pilot for the coming new television show.

Fans of “PLL” will be in for a treat as the original cast members Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish will be once again reprising their roles as Alison DiLaurentis and Mona Vanderwaal. Marlene King is also set to be back as the series’ executive producer, along with the flagship series’ author Sara Shepard.

The continuation of King’s storytelling

Originally, Freeform planned the making of “The Perfectionists” in November 2014.

The network wanted it to have a connection with “Pretty Little Liars,” the Hollywood Reporter reported.

“We are committed to delivering shows that push boundaries and become a part of our viewers' lives,” the network’s executive vice president of programming and development Karey Burke said. As the teen drama mystery-thriller series became a phenomenon hit, Burke believed that a lot of fans are still craving to see its continuation.

She continued to say that they are now excited to see Marlene King back to tell her “rich and revolutionary storytelling” in the coming “PLL” spinoff. Alison DiLaurentis and Mona Vanderwaal also return to continue their journeys by hiding a lot of secrets and lies just like what they did in Rosewood.

The ‘PLL’ spinoff storyline

In “The Perfectionists,” the fictional town of Beacon Heights can be considered perfect for having top-tier college and overachieving students.

However, the description of the city is far more different from what it really is. In an effort to make its image ideal, the municipality encounters its first ever murder.

“Behind every Perfectionist is a secret, a lie, and a needed alibi," the television show’s description said.

Sasha Pieterse will be once again seen as Alison DiLaurentis, the former queen bee that disappeared mysteriously that left everyone in Rosewood petrified. Janel Parrish will also be seen as her original “Pretty Little Liars” character Mona Vanderwaal.

She is Hanna Marin’s (Ashley Benson) best friend that happened to be the enigmatic harasser, A. She, too, was the one who defeated the evil villain A.D.

The spinoff’s possible release

Marlene King is now excited to work with Sara Shepard, Freeform, and Warner Horizon once again for “The Perfectionists.”

She also said that she now wants to introduce the “Pretty Little Liars” fans to a new world they are about to get into in Beacon Heights. The release of the coming spinoff is not yet revealed, but it is expected to be released in 2019, per its IMDb page.
