Kevin Hart apologized to his wife and kids on Instagram on Saturday, September 16th. He didn't reveal why he was apologizing. However, TMZ explained why the 38-year-old comedian posted a very personal video to his family and shared it with the public.
TMZ reports that Hart's video with the apology was his way of doing damage control, because a messy situation is about to come out about the July cheating allegation. A woman allegedly has a video of Hart and a woman together in what could be described as cheating. The woman with the compromising video is demanding money from the highly-paid actor and comedian.
While it is not a sex tape, it could suggest that Hart was in a position to cheat on his wife of one year. At any rate, it was enough for Hart to say what he did was a mistake that went against his better judgment.
The personal video
The actor was vague when he told his 31-year-old pregnant wife, Eniko Parrish, and his kids from a previous marriage that he apologized to them for his bad error and judgment. He stated that he was sending out many apologies to them, and he promised that he would do better. He concluded by saying he is not perfect, but he loves all of them even though he has hurt the people closest to him by making some mistakes he deeply regrets.
Since the video, people have speculated why Hart was provoked to post it.
Last July, the "Jumanji" star was accused of cheating on his wife after he was photographed with some women outside of a Miami Beach hotel. At the time, Hart denied all cheating allegations. He told Kevin Frazier on "Entertainment Tonight" that the stories about him cheating were not true.
Reaction to the emotional video
Some comments under Hart's video on Instagram were not very kind.
Someone commented that Hart is apologizing only because of the extortion threat, and he is doing so in an effort to get the extortionist to back off and he won't have to dish out any money. The person contends that a genuine apology would have come as soon as the act had occurred and not months later.
A representative for Hart explained that someone is trying to set Kevin up in a failed extortion attempt.
No more information could be given because it is now an ongoing legal investigation.
Kevin Hart's family
Kevin married Eniko Parrish on August 13, 2016. They announced on May 14, 2017 that they are expecting their first child, a boy, together. Hart was married to Torrei Hart from 2003 until 2011. They have joint custody of their two children, 12-old daughter Heaven and nine-year-old son Hendrix. Those are the two children Hart apologized to in the emotional video that was posted on Saturday.
