The most famous hitman, "John Wick," is coming back. Lionsgate has officially confirmed the “john wick: Chapter 3” release date, with Keanu Reeves returning to the assassination role.
A report published in The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the third film for the reluctant hitman is set for release on May 17th, 2019. The first installment has made $88 million while the previous “John Wick: Chapter 2” has earned more than $171 million.
Hence, it is expected that the latest movie in the "John Wick" series will gain more popularity and revenue.
Director Chad Stahelski revealed that the plot of the upcoming movie is halfway through. He also added that the filming would start by the end of this year or at the beginning of next year. Stahelski also released a statement that "John Wick: Chapter 3" will reveal some details of the assassin’s organization in New York which was not included in part two. Hence, part three will also include several facts of the mysterious world of a hitman.
Chapter 3 details revealed
When an exclusive interview with IGN was conducted, Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves was asked about what viewers should expect from the upcoming movie.
Reeves said that the movie would bring John to Jerusalem. He added that John would be put into vulnerable situations where he tries his best to survive another hitman.
'John Wick' TV show coming soon
Back in June, Stahelski confirmed that a "John Wick" TV show is in development. It will be titled “The Continental,” which was named after the movies’ hitman-friendly hotels. He further explained that the TV Show would focus on the world of the hitman’s organization, including their relationships with other people. Dynamic Comics, on the other hand, is working on "John Wick" comic book series. The team claimed that Lionsgate would base the upcoming TV shows from the comic series.
Nicolas Cage will play huge hunter role
Another post from Hollywood Report revealed that the Oscar-winning actor would have a role in the upcoming movie titled “Primal.” This film will be directed by Nick Powell, a Hollywood stunt coordinator from “The Bourne Identity,” “Cinderella Man,” and “X-men.”
In the movie, Cage will play a zoo hunter for wild animals. After a few days, the animals will escape, which will force him to hunt them down.
The “Primal” is the first project of the Wonderfilm Media, with Daniel Grodnik set to produce the film and Richard Leder set to compose the storyline. It was announced back at the Toronto International Film Festival, and its production will begin on October 23rd in Puerto Rico.
