The "Grey's Anatomy" actress Kate Walsh just revealed that she was diagnosed with a Brain Tumor back in 2015. In one of her interviews with Cosmopolitan, the actress shared about the different symptoms that have continually progressed, as well as her journey to recovery after the benign tumor was removed from her head.

According to E! News, the actress felt worn out a lot of times due to her long hours of work on TV shows. She also explained that she was working insane for more than 80 hours in a week. Hence, she was no longer surprised when diagnosed with a tumor on her brain.

As she continued her statement, she later revealed that she started to have cognitive difficulties when her symptoms started to progress.

Getting an MRI

When the actress started feeling severe symptoms, she opted to get an MRI where she officially learned about her diagnosis. She further revealed that she started losing her thoughts back then and she wasn't even able to finish a sentence.

It was hard for her to accept the diagnosis at first. She recalled how the radiologist has called her attention and uttered that she's having a sizable brain tumor. Perhaps, her brain tumor diagnosis was something that she never imagined to have. She also recalled how her assistant had driven for here in order to take some notes from her doctor.

It was one of the worst situations she ever faced.

Brain tumor removal

After the MRI result, Walsh revealed that she went through a surgery to remove the tumor. She took a much needed time to rest and recover from her condition.

She added that it took her nine months to recover; but when she came back, she immediately shot for a film called the "Self."

Apart from her movie project, Walsh revealed how blessed she was with the different shows she did like "13 Reasons Why" and "Girls Trip." Amidst her experience, the actress realized how much she wanted to spend her time with her family and friends.

The actress added that she wanted to do some projects that are significantly important to her. Working for 17 straight hours is quite challenging; however, right now she makes sure to get seven to eight hours of sleep every single day. Her long hours of sleep had helped her with her recovery.

As she went through the details of her brain tumor, Walsh revealed that her previous condition was overwhelming. According to the Hollywood Reporter, her previous health scare made her realized the things that matter most in life.
