While we wait for the return of “Game of Thrones” on screen, let us look at some of the crazy, yet interesting theories out there about Daenerys’ hand Tyrion lannister. Fans tied the Season 7 finale with speculations about his actions in Season 8, which involve a betrayal.

Tyrion betrays Daenerys for Cersei

This theory ties back to Tyrion and Cersei’s conversation after the meeting at the Dragonpit, when they talked about the importance of family and spurted out hatred for each other. Somewhere in their conversation, Tyrion got the hint that Cersei is pregnant when she placed her hand on her stomach.

We never heard the end of their conversation before Tyrion returned to the Dragonpit to tell Jon and Daenerys that Cersei had agreed to send her men to the North (which turned out to be a lie). However, according to a fan theory, Tyrion made a deal with her sister which involves the Iron Throne. In exchange for her support, he assured Cersei that he would do his best to make sure Daenerys did not take the Iron Throne away from her and that the House Lannister would continue to rule Kings Landing. Cersei always had a soft spot for her children and so made this deal for the love of her unborn child.

The angry look

That angry look from Tyrion as he watched Jon Snow enter Daenerys’ cabin in the Season 7 finale continues to intrigue fans with its meaning.

The Queen’s hand could be angry for several reasons and one involves his deal with Cersei. Tyrion knows about Miri Maz Durr’s prophecy that Dany can never have children again. However, what if Jon breaks this prediction and impregnates the Mother of Dragons? This would certainly pose problems to his agreement with Cersei.

Tyrion is in love with Daenerys

Another theory is that Tyrion is in love with Daenerys and knowing that Jon Snow has captured her heart angers him. This would be reason enough to betray her in Season 8. Tyrion’s betrayal would also align with another prophecy mentioned in George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire. The prophecy goes, “Three treasons will you know, once for blood and once for gold and once for love.” The first two already happened in Season 1.

Blood, for when Miri Maz Durr supposedly tried to revive Drogo. Gold, for when Jorah made a deal with King Robert to have Dany killed. Will the last betrayal come from Tyrion? Then again, there’s Jon Snow, whom according to Digital Spy, is the Azor Ahai and is bound to kill Daenerys in Season 8.
