Many fans were left frenzied when the “Game of Thrones” Season 7 finale episode ended with a major cliffhanger. Avid followers of the popular HBO series are curious if Tormund Giantsbane (Kristofer Hivju) and Beric Dondarrion (Richard Dormer) are able to survive after Viserion destroyed The Wall.
Aside from Tormund and Beric, viewers are also wondering about Sansa Stark’s (Sophie Turner) fate in Season 8 after a theory suggested that she could possibly die in the next installment. Reports suggest that Sansa is among the much-loved characters who are likely to be killed before the series concludes.
More bloody wars and deaths
Followers of the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series may have read the original plotline written by George RR Martin to HarperCollins when it made rounds on social media last month. Based on the leaked excerpts, the 68-year-old New Mexican author planned to only retain a few characters towards the series’ end and this include Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).
Because of this, fans cannot help but speculate that Sansa Stark’s days are already numbered. Speculations have it that the death of Lady, Sansa’s direwolf, could possibly be a hint that she is not going to live long in the series.
Avid “Game of Thrones” fans are more concerned for the life of Sansa Stark since she and Winterfell have the strongest line of defense against the White Walkers. Additionally, it is important to note that all the personalities guarding the Wall are now assumed dead and Daenerys Targaryen, together with Jon Snow, is in Westeros.
While these reports could possibly be true, it should be noted that HBO has yet to confirm these theories. Therefore, fans should take these claims lightly until everything is proven true and correct.
The Great War will commence
Meanwhile, Business Insider reported that the Great War is very likely to happen in the imminent “Game of Thrones” Season 8.
The news outlet reported that Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow are now preparing to head into battle to kill off the White Walkers and wights.
Viserion already destroyed The Wall in the Season 7 finale. His army will, then, lead into Westeros -- where Daenerys and Jon are currently at.
In other news, fans could probably have to wait for two years before the “Game of Thrones” Season 8 will premiere. The HBO series’ final installment is predicted to arrive in late 2018 or early 2019. Stay tuned for more spoilers, news, and updates!
