“Game of Thrones” Season 8 is deemed as the long awaited end to the story. This is where everything comes full circle, and fans get the chance to see their beloved characters die in agony, or walk away victorious.
For the past 7-years, we have fallen in love with “Game of Thrones” and everything it has to offer. The world is rich with story and potential for telling more stories outside of the main narrative. In fact, HBO is planning to do just that with one or more spin-off series in the future.
But what of season 8 guys?
Season 7 of the popular series is set to hit HBO in just a few weeks.
It will finally show several characters finally meeting each other for the first time, and the outcome of some of these meeting could have fans losing their minds.
The chance to see Daenerys Targaryen go up against Cerise Lannister and the White Walkers has always been a dream for many, and now this dream is finally taking shape. As for Jon Snow, he’ still lost when it comes down to his real parentage, but at least he’s the King of the North.
Cersei is planning to defend Kings Landing from enemies coming from all angles. A difficult task and some might say impossible. However, one should bear in mind that Cersei is cunning, and as such, will have something up her sleeves, especially a trick to deal with Daenerys and her dragons.
As for the dragons themselves, well, they are much larger now, and ultimately more menacing than before. Regular spear and arrows will likely not be enough to damage their skin, but other things could.
Now, since this is the final season of the series, the writers want to make sure the story is told properly.
They want to show to go out with a bang, which means, the writing will probably take longer than usual.
If this is the case, fans might have to wait until some time in 2019 before having the chance to watch season 8.
"They have to write the episodes and figure out the production schedule," according to Casey Bloys, HBO programming president. "We’ll have a better sense of that once they get further into the writing."
Have faith in season 8 coming in 2018
We’re certain having to watch the final season of “Game of Thrones” in two years is more than what many fans can take, so we expect the writers to pull through big time.
Then again, if they require more time to create the perfect series finale, we’d rather a 2019 release date rather than an early one at this point.
Real fans of the series would rather wait an extra year than settle for less.
